TaskbarGenix – Live CPU, RAM, Disk and Network on Your Taskbar
About This Project
Overview TaskbarGenix puts the numbers you actually care about, CPU, RAM, Disk and Network, directly on your taskbar. No big window, no heavy dashboard. You glance down and see how your PC is doing. It is free, works fully offline, and uses almost no CPU or memory itself.
Key Features
Live CPU, RAM, Disk and Network speed as text on the taskbar
3-level colours: green (0–69%), yellow (70–85%), red (86–100%), so a problem is visible at a glance
Transparent text overlay that does not block clicks on the taskbar
Tray icon with quick settings
Choose which meters to show
Remembers your settings
No account, no internet, no ads
Technical Highlights
Native C# with the Windows layered-window API for a per-pixel transparent overlay
Click-through and no-focus window, so it never steals focus
Very small single exe (about 35 KB) with a tiny memory footprint
Reads system counters directly, with no background services
My Role I designed and built this tool end to end, from the idea and UI to the Windows build and release packaging.
Outcome Useful for developers, gamers and anyone who wants to spot a slow PC, a busy disk or a heavy download without opening Task Manager.
Download Free offline download. Version 1.0.0, size about 35 KB, freeware (source not public). System requirements: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). Works fully offline.
